What is a visit?
As a Papa Pal, you can choose the type of visit you do. Some Papa Pals lend a hand around the house and help with errands, light housekeeping or gardening. Others offer company on a walk around the neighborhood or provide transportation to and from appointments. All enjoy catching up and having fun conversations. It’s a great job for friendly people.
Do Papa Pals provide personal or medical care?
No, Papa Pals don’t provide personal care, medical care or hands-on care. It’s a non-medical role.
What is the payment schedule?
Papa sends payments directly to your bank account using a payment service called Tipalti. There are no transaction fees. Papa pays you within 2 business days after completing a visit.
What is the hourly rate?
Rates are between $13 and $16 an hour, depending on your location. Plus, you can earn bonuses and incentives. When bonuses apply, you could earn up to $25 an hour.
Does Papa pay for mileage?
Yes, Papa pays for your commute mileage to and from your visits. If you do transportation visits, Papa pays that mileage as well. The rate is based on your location.
How does scheduling work?
You can choose when you work and how often. Shifts, or visits, are often between 2 and 4 hours. You can browse available visits in the Papa Pal App and select the visits that work best for you. It's easy to schedule visits up to 2 weeks in advance or at the last minute. There are no long-term commitments.
How do I apply to work as a companion and caregiver?
Getting started is easy. You’ll need an ID like a driver’s license, state ID card or password. You’ll also need a copy of your car insurance if you plan to provide transportation.
Then, Papa runs a background check. As soon as you’re cleared, you can move onto the next step and schedule your first visit. (At first, you may not see many visits in your area. If this happens, keep checking the app. Papa posts new visits daily.)
